Map: Cruise Ship Cargo Bay (interior). A view of a large rectangular cargo hold deep in a cargo ship's hull. The setting is heavy industrial metal throughout: riveted steel bulkheads, a floor of ridged/diamond-plate steel plating, and exposed structural beams and pipe runs along the walls. The walls show wear with streaks of rust bleeding down from seams and bolts, alongside old scuff marks and scrape trails on the floor near the water's edge from barrels being dragged. The room is well-lit by rows of industrial ceiling lights casting even illumination, with a few flickering or dead fixtures for character. Black and yellow hazard striping marks the edge of the water pool and the base of the crosswalk stairs. Center-left of the room is a large rectangular pool of water taking up about half the floor, flush against the ship's left bulkhead. The water is dark, slightly murky and oily-looking, with faint ripples, connecting straight through to the open sea via a roller shutter. The shutter is a heavy horizontal-slat steel roller door built into the hull wall at the pool's edge, currently closed, with thick chain and pulley mechanisms visible on either side. Near the pool's edge, about 12 barrels sit clustered on the deck as squat metal drums with riveted lids and faded warning labels. A few have cracked seams, leaking fine orange powder that dusts the floor. The right side of the bay holds a mining equipment staging area featuring large mounted drills on wheeled frames, stacked wooden and metal crates, and an idle conveyor belt system running along the wall. Loose tools, cables, and spare parts are scattered around to suggest recent use. Along the bottom of the room runs an elevated steel catwalk spanning the width of the bay with a railing on the open side, raised above the main floor on support struts. A door sits at its far left end leading deeper into the ship, while a set of stairs descends to the main floor near the mining equipment on the far right.
