We completely rebuilt the map editor from the ground up — here's what's new.
Redesigned Map Editor
The editor now uses a floating window layout. Panels for tokens, effects, handouts,
settings, and live sessions float freely on the canvas — drag them wherever you want, resize them, and pin them in place. Your panel positions are remembered between sessions.
The editor is organized into three clear modes:
- Layout Mode — Connect and arrange your maps, manage the grid, and configure map settings
- Design Mode — Chat with the AI to generate and refine your battle map
- Play Mode — Run your session with fog of war, drawing tools, and highlights
On mobile, toolbars auto-collapse and the mode switcher becomes a compact dropdown so you can
use the full screen for your map.
Fog of War — Completely Rebuilt
Fog of War now runs on a GPU-accelerated 3D engine with smooth, animated cloud textures. You can customize the fog color and blur intensity from a new settings panel. Two tools are available:
- Brush tool — Paint to reveal or shroud areas freehand with soft edges
- Area tool — Click to define rectangular regions to reveal or shroud
A blurred version of the map shows through the fog so players can see terrain hints without full detail. The fog animates with drifting cloud layers for an immersive tabletop feel.
Use Reset Fog and Reveal All buttons for quick setup between encounters.
Fast Mode
A new Fast Mode toggle in the chat bar lets you skip AI thinking for quicker generations.
Great for rapid iterations when you already know what you want — the AI responds much faster at the cost of less deliberation.
Prompt Improvement Agent
A small sparkles icon now appears in the chat bar. Click it to let an AI agent review and
improve your prompt before sending — helping you get better results with less back-and-forth. A quality rating appears so you can see how the AI rates your prompt.
