After hours under the closed canopy of the forest, the dirt trail disappears beneath a thick carpet of emerald moss. Ahead, what appear to be natural hills reveal themselves to be rounded rooftops, completely camouflaged by layers of lichen and small pale flowers. The houses are low, made of rough stone and aged wood, so integrated into the landscape that the village seems not to have been built, but rather sprouted from the damp soil. Circular windows of blown glass gleam faintly with candlelight, like yellow eyes peering through the foliage.
